Charon zoetrope

This is an unbelievable 3d stroboscopic zoetrope of Charon. Charon was the Greek mythological figure who ferried souls to Hades.

At night the wheel spins and at the right speed a strobe light kicks on and the figures appear to paddle.

The steel frame in the foreground gnerally has 6 sets of ropes attached to it. With 6 people in each side of rope pulling it back and forth to get the wheel up to speed.
