We spent today hiking 3000 vertical feet in 4 miles up to the Phajoding Monastery... The hike started all misty and we couldn't see the mountain top goal but slowly as the day wore on the mist wore off and from the top we got spectacular views of Bhutanfs capital, Thimphu.
my facebook-less status remains - but I wanted to share pictures of my travels with everyone, because usually words do not do justice..

Lunch
We arrived in the capital city of Thimpu, and they took us directly to lunch of traditional Bhutanese food - red rice (bhutan staple) plus lots of veggies and Ema Datsa (small red bowl at top of pic)
Chilis drying on a roof = ingredients for Ema Datsa (Bhutanese national dish of chili and cheese. Spicy!!).

Landed in Bhutan!
Our transport in Bhutan for the next 2 weeks. Baby blue van!!!!
The mountains literally raise straight up from the valley floor. Not matter where u go you are always surrounded by the sheer mass of mountains around you..
